While I've never been to a MLB game outside of Toronto, I would think Wrigley Field is a top ball park to visit? Classic. I see in the OP you mentioned you like the Cubs, have you ever been to one of their home games?

not yet. I grew up when the Cubs were on TV every day - so been a fan for probably 37 years. Now that the son lives there, my goal is to see Cubs and Blackhawks in 2017-18. I still want to get to Toronto - see Leafs, Blue Jays, and RUSH!!

Must have been an exciting year for you to see the Cubs finally win a World Series. I have heard from people that have been to a Cubs game that it is definitely a place to visit and watch a game.

When the Saints won the SuperBowl, I actually had tears in my eyes. I stayed up till 3 AM listening to New Orleans radio online. The Cubs win was strange, surreal. 108 years is a long time, but iI wasn't paying attention till 1980/81 - still a long time, but not as long as the Saints.

Haha. I absolutely love that little nugget about having tears in your eyes when the saints won the SB. That's dedication!

It was crazy. We had been so bad for so long. Bags over our heads bad. "Aints" ... snake bitten... and then we were Champions.

I took my son to a game at Wrigley a few years ago and it was awe-inspiring. You are so close to the players, it's a different feeling from any other ballpark I've ever been in. My son and I both adopted the Cubs as a secondary team to follow because of that game. We didn't take as much joy in the World Series win as we might have because we were still licking our wounds from the Mets bowing out of the playoffs in the wildcard game.

Update:
In Chicago - went to the Blackhawks store. Nice, but unless you want a jersey, not a lot of selection.
Caps - Ted Leonsis pissed me off last year about a month after this thread was created. I realized that I cannot like the Caps anymore, and I don't want to visit DC -- really don't like the town. Since son in in Chicago, and even though I like the Preds - Chicago will be our family team until my son moves to TX .. but his fiancee is a diehard Blackhawks fan, so that's pretty cool.
Was pulling for the Sens because we hate Pittsburgh so much.
